NEROC 2026 is proud to introduce the inaugural NEROC PechaKucha Competition — a dynamic, high-energy presentation event designed to showcase innovation, creativity, and fresh perspectives in osteopathic medicine.
PechaKucha (pronounced peh-cha koo-cha) is a rapid-fire presentation style featuring 20 slides displayed for 20 seconds each, creating concise and engaging presentations that last just over 6 minutes. The format is fast, visual, and designed to inspire conversation and connection.
We are especially encouraging medical students, residents, fellows, and early-career physicians to participate.
Whether you are presenting:
- A clinical pearl
- A research project
- A compelling patient story
- An advocacy initiative
- A wellness strategy
- A leadership lesson
- An innovation in education or patient care
…this is your opportunity to share your ideas with colleagues from across the Northeast in a supportive and engaging environment.
Competition Format
Selected finalists will present live during NEROC 2026 in front of attendees, faculty leaders, and judges. Presentations will be evaluated on:
- Educational value
- Creativity and originality
- Clarity of message
- Audience engagement
- Presentation delivery
Awards will include:
- Judge’s Choice Award
- Audience Favorite Award
Who Should Apply?
We strongly encourage submissions from:
- Medical students
- Residents and fellows
- New and experienced presenters alike
No extensive speaking experience is required. In fact, first-time presenters are encouraged to participate.

Due to time limitations, presentation spots are limited and selected through a competitive review process. Early submissions are strongly encouraged.
