A Letter from the President

Massachusetts healthcare is changing rapidly, and the Massachusetts Osteopathic Society (MOS) is entering an exciting new chapter. Our profession has always been strengthened by the relationships we build with one another, and our goal is to create a stronger, more connected, and more engaged osteopathic community across the Commonwealth.

Founded in 1902, MOS has a proud history of leadership, perseverance, and service. Today, more than 1,700 DOs practice in Massachusetts, and in 2027 we will celebrate our 125th anniversary. We are building this legacy with renewed leadership, a new website, and a clear vision for the future.

MOS is expanding opportunities for physicians and future physicians through high-quality CME, mentorship, research opportunities, career development, networking, and leadership. We are strengthening relationships with regional Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine and creating opportunities for students, residents, and fellows to connect with experienced physicians and become more involved in our profession.

We are also working to build stronger partnerships with neighboring osteopathic societies, creating opportunities for regional collaboration, joint educational programs, and professional networking. At the same time, MOS will continue to expand member benefits, career resources, and opportunities to connect with colleagues throughout Massachusetts.

A Stronger Voice for Osteopathic Medicine

A strong professional organization requires a strong membership. As MOS grows, so does our ability to advocate for our physicians, our profession, and the patients we serve. Our vision includes a stronger presence in state-level advocacy and ultimately an annual MOS Day at the State House.

As a MOS member, you will have opportunities to lead committees, participate in projects, build your professional network, and develop state and national leadership experience.

Most importantly, I want to hear from you. Tell us what you need from your professional organization and how MOS can better serve you. Your ideas, involvement, and leadership will help shape the future of MOS.
